Responsibilities

  • Assist with telephone volume and completing payment forms for loan payments received by telephone
  • Post daily telephone payments to member accounts
  • Document, analyze and respond to Credit disputes received electronically and by mail. Correct member credit bureaus and XP payment histories when warranted. 
  • Compile, document and respond to Bankruptcy notifications and correspondence received electronically and by mail. File electronic proof of claim. Primary contact with our Bankruptcy attorney.
  • Manage the administrative repossession process assuring vehicles are sold on a timely basis to and we are adhering to all consumer repossession laws. Documenting and sending required Consumer disclosures and notifications required by law. Submitting repossession vendor invoices for timely payments. Analyzing auction condition reports to determine if insurance claims need to be filed.  Ordering refunds of dealer and lender add ons to sales contracts when refunds are possible. Ordering repossession titles on a timely basis.  Direct contact with our auto auction partners. 
  • Document and administer the process of assuring loan cancellation refunds, insurance and auction proceeds are posted timely and accurately.
  • File Damage Claims through ESA’s website when necessary. Provide timely follow up to assure the process is completed on a timely basis.
  • File Skip Claims thru ESA’s website when eligible and collateral has not been recovered on a timely basis. Follow up to assure we are receiving proceeds timely.
  • File ESA premium refunds when accounts are eligible, to reduce losses to the credit union.
  • Document, research, analyze and respond to consumers regarding payment history disputes.
  • Scan any documentation required for the above responsibilities to Nautilus.
  • Perform other duties for the Collection Department as needed.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Two years collection experience in a credit union or financial institution

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, college degree or equivalent preferred

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of collection policies and procedures of Auto Loans, Unsecured Loans, Lines of Credit, Mortgage Loans and Credit Cards 
  • Knowledge of FDCPA, TCPA and other Consumer Finance Laws
  • Knowledge of Repossession procedures for Missouri and Illinois a plus
  • Knowledge of Deposit accounts and Overdraft Protection

Skills:

  • Must be able to multitask and solve problems effectively in a high volume environment.
  • Excellent documentations skills in updating accounts on multiple systems.
  • Strong work ethic, tenacity and persistence.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Highly detail oriented


Rewards:
Hourly Salary Range:  $16.11 / Hr. - $20.14 / Hr.
