As the Learning and Development Specialist at Neighbors Credit Union you will increase the knowledge and performance level of our employees through the design and delivery of awesome training and development programs.

Responsibilities

As a successful Learning and Development Specialist you will:

  • Welcome our new employees and deliver their initial training, including compliance, regulations, and the Credit Union Difference.
  • Identify learning needs throughout the credit union and design training activities, materials, procedures and job aids to address those needs.
  • Provide feedback to learners and ongoing support to branch staff on training issues (such as teller outages, returned checks, and fraud).
  • Administer our Career Pathing employee development program.
  • Establish and coordinate a Certified Trainer program for our Retail branches.
  • Assist in the Human Resource department as needed and available.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in designing and presenting training programs required.
  • Two years of experience in a financial institution required.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work or educational experience.  Bachelor degree preferred.
  • CPLP certification desired.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, learning theories, instructional methodolgies, and current training and development industry trends.
  • Ability to increase the knowledge level of class participants through creative, innovative, effective and engaging course delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude including use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Sharepoint.
  • Must be a team player, willing to do whatever it takes to provide an awesome learning experience for our employees.
  • Knowledge of financial institution products and services, operations, lending, and regulations strongly preferred.
  • The Learning and Development Specialist will have a home base office at our South County branch, and will train regularly at our Downtown branch located in the US Post Office.
